Summary
It starts as a simple piece. “Draw your emotions,” his doctor had said. “It can help.”
And so he does - twirling, amorphous streams of consciousness and color that pour out of him like blood fill the empty space in beautiful, terrible, wonderful dancing abstraction.
He’s not sure if it helps, but it certainly doesn’t hurt. At least, not yet.

Summary
Since as long as Solas can remember, he has been cursed to have all of his victories marred by some horrific, near-insurmountable failure. Or some drawback, which was all but worse than the original problem itself. It is a familiar pain, for all that each wound bleeds sharp and fresh every time it happens.
But there is another curse, more subtle in how it tears him apart and wears him down. And that is that his failures are cursed to be marred by some small victory, some small element of hope. He is never allowed to submit to the sickly-comforting embrace of despair. He is never given a graceful exit, a moment that he can tell himself “You have truly done all that you could.” He is never allowed to rest.
AKA - That one where the Herald dies at Haven, but the anchor still survives so they travel to Nevarra and shove a spirit in the body.

It comes as a surprise when the aloof apostate mage steps in and supports Athim in facing the difficulties of saving the world while raising a family.
The Dreadwolf surprises himself by entrenching himself in this little lost family that reminds Solas what it is like to live and love. All while grappling with his past regrets and his mounting inescapable devotion to the strange elf the world calls InquisitorSeries
