    Summary

Apollo drew in a breath. “Do you remember, when we were kids, and I’d… I’d have dreams about the fire, even though I didn’t consciously remember it? And whenever Dhurke wasn’t there you’d drag me over to his bed so we could sleep next to each other there? Well, uh… I know we’re not kids anymore, but…”

Nahyuta blinked. He… thought he remembered something like that, now that Apollo mentioned it. He didn’t remember it in the same detail as Apollo did, though he was moved by the fact that he’d clung on to that memory. He was a smart enough man to see what Apollo was getting at here. He didn’t need his brother’s perceptive ability to see the way he glanced down at the pillow next to Nahyuta’s, even in the dark.

Or: Two brothers comfort each other after having some rough dreams.

    Summary

And yet, Nahyuta remembers. Other than Datz, he is the only one left who does: For the first nine years of his life, Apollo ran barefoot and free at Nahyuta’s side, yammering on and on to him in Khura’inese in a voice as loud as a warba’ad’s cry. And here he is again, some 15 or so years later, sticking out like a sore thumb amongst the elegance of a royal family to which his only real connection is Nahyuta.

    Summary

“Braid Head.” Rayfa pipes up. “I thought your fast ended today, did it not? You told me it began on Monday.”

Amara narrows her eyes, looking suspiciously between Rayfa’s confused expression to Nahyuta’s frozen posture. “You told me it ended yesterday, and you were meeting with Justice for lunch.”

He smiles serenely before he answers, tilting his head as he used to do to garner favour in court. Many tended to be partial to the spitting image of the late Her Mercifulness. It’s become too much of a habit when things don’t instantly adhere to his wishes - with the current one being, everyone minds their own business.

He supposes, with his family, that might be too much to ask.

    Summary

Nahyuta is drowning again. His father is on the chopping block, Apollo wants to join him, and if Nahyuta doesn't win this case… "I speak to you now as a servant of the Holy Mother, Mr. Justice. Do not defend this man tomorrow. He is surely guilty. Her Holiness does not favor the self-flagellating; do not bring death upon yourself for a misplaced sense of duty."

"I don't care. It doesn't matter; I'm defending him. You cannot change my mind."

"You would put your own father to death?" Miles Edgeworth asks, expression aghast behind his glasses. Nahyuta wants to say he wouldn't, that he's sorry, that he doesn't want to, and please, Chief Prosecutor, don't you understand this feeling? Don't you all have Trucy Wright to consider? Don't you know this?

The small sliver of the sarcophagus that's open shows that pendant in all its bright blue glory, clasped in the waxy hand of a man Nahyuta saw breathing not three hours ago.

    Summary

The heart monitor’s rhythmic beeping filled the silence of the hospital room. Apollo’s chest rose and fell in gentle waves as he slept, smooth and even. His body was tightly wrapped in bandages – his arms, his chest, his gorgeous eye – and she dreaded to think what his skin looked like underneath them.

Thalassa shouldn’t be here – she had no right to be here – but how could she stay away?

Thalassa visits Apollo in the hospital after the courtroom bombing, and ruminates on her past decisions.
