Wei Wuxian was not one to offer himself up so easily. Only because his family needed someone superior than themselves to help with their business.
The Jiang family was financially stumped. Debt was coming from left and right. They could not clear this without someone else’s help. That is why Wei Wuxian did what he had to do.
His family did not support his decision, however, claiming that the man he was to face was someone not to be trusted. That he would live confined in a cold castle all his life, only because he tried to gain the trust of one such as him.
That ‘him’ was Hanguangjun. The ruler over Gusu Lan, ever since his elder brother disappeared. Or so every other commoner said. So Wei Wuxian had to be wary as not a lot of people had the privilege of meeting such an important person.
