It’s yet another day dedicated to the mindless purchasing of products one didn’t really need. A day of bitter, cheap chocolates worth a fraction of their cost, leaving a thin film of wax-like oils on your tongue after popping one into your mouth. She thinks of all the poor, innocent roses culled mid-bloom only to be disposed of once their petals wilted and their leaves withered. She despises the plush teddies, and tooth-rottingly sweet candies, and cheesy memoirs that never held true in the days that followed.
Indeed, Caitlyn has always hated Valentine’s day.
