KEEP AN EYE ON THE TAGS, WILL ADD MORE AS WE PROGRESS!
Patrick had to return to Oak Valley. He was running out of excuses preventing his return to his hometown. No theatre shows, or baseball games. He wasn’t planning a wedding. The store had recently trained up two new sales staff, so he could no longer claim that he couldn’t leave the store for a week.
And now, his parent’s 35th wedding anniversary was fast approaching and the vague hints and suggestions about them wanting a visit from their only child were quickly becoming polite demands. He had no choice.
Because he definitely couldn’t tell them the reason why he was so reluctant to return. That wouldn’t do.- Patrick still has some secrets

“I’m fine, it’s just…” David sighs, frustrated. He had hoped that making out with Patrick would take his mind off of things without having to acknowledge that that’s what he was trying to do, but of course Patrick knows him too well. “It’s everything. The news, my mom, everything.” He waves a hand at the general state of things.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Patrick offers, scratching his fingers through the hairs at the nape of David’s neck.
“Later, maybe?” David replies. “I think I, um, just need to get out of my head for a bit?”
