Men were simple creatures. This had been Mikasa's first lesson.
They loved to play pretend, they loved to live in a fantasy — to live in a world where they were the only creatures that mattered. It was her job to make that fantasy come true with soft caresses and honeyed words. For a few coins, she'd make any man, king or beggar, feel like he was the only person who mattered. She would bring them to their pleasure before they would disappear into the night, back to the ugly reality that led them right back to the threshold of this establishment.
The cycle continued on and on. It had since the beginning of time and would go on till the world collapsed in on itself.
mikasa is a young prostitute working in a high-end brothel in Mitras' red light district when a strange young man comes along and starts demanding her nights. rarely does he request sex, but instead he lets his heart bleed out to her. all while a killer prowls the streets at night, leaving ladies of the night dead, with their hearts cut out. and eren leaves her with a promise: no harm will come to her, ever.

Summary
There were many stories and legends recounted to Mikasa before bedtime, but one in particular stands out: in the high mountains of Hizuru, there is a river with the power to wash away a person’s memories.
Legends say that once someone goes near the river, the water calls out to you in a gentle, alluring voice. It tugs you closer and closer, lulling you with its sweetness and beauty. The pull overtakes you until you’re not even conscious of your being. Instead, all you desire to do is to jump into its depths and forget everything.
The reason why Mikasa remembered this story more than others is because Mikasa was undeniably happy with her peaceful life.
And she couldn’t imagine anything changing that to warrant the desire to forget everything that defined her.

Summary
Eren Jaeger lives through the ever-changing seasons of Hizuru, a new land he's learned to call home. The colours of spring hypnotize him, the heat of summer burns him, the winds of autumn sober him, and the chill of winter petrifies him.
It is even more astounding that all these seasons, all these transformations, are shown by Hizuru's princess, someone he's forbidden to even lay eyes upon. They show through her, and the fleeting moments that they share behind closed doors, hidden from the rest of the world, and he's helpless in hiding his growing admiration for her.
