Becoming a god is the first step in Frieza's plan to take control of all universes, and he's willing to do whatever it takes to reach that goal. Jotaro is stuck. As a single, technically unemployed PhD student, his chances of gaining custody of his daughter are slim to none. Having a partner, particularly one with a stable job, would be just what he needs to convince the judge. In a fit of desperation, he calls Kakyoin with a proposition: marry him until the heat dies down.
Against his better judgment, Kakyoin agrees.
