2nd part of King & Lionheart series. Modern AU, with student Merlin and Royal Arthur. Developing the relationship to public reveal, with a backdrop of Arthur finally aware of Merlin's magic and a series of magical attacks on the Royal household. WIP, but worth the wait.

Summary
"Idiot, idiot, idiot", are chanting children in the muddy street. Arthur stops, a bit dazzled. He brings his hand to his forehead to shield his eyes and his heart aches watching their dancing figures in the steaming light. They hop in circles around a tall, skinny boy with large ears, who spins on himself to smile at them ... (you can watch this story trailer on youtube).

Bookmarker's Notes
This story snuck up on me. It's set in canon storyline/time, but diverges to allow a unique take on Merlin and his relationships with all the other characters. It's a Gen story, with a background relationship between Arthur and Gwen. But the primary platonic / brotherly relationship is between Merlin & Arthur. You will need a boxful of hankies at the end - you're warned.
I read this across a week whilst on holiday in sunny Tuscany - the last few chapters while I was sitting by a swimming pool which had been invaded by a couple of families with their boisterous children. So it was rather embarrassing to be sitting there, a handful of tissues in one hand, kindle in the other, and tears streaming down my face, sobbing away. It's been a while since a story sideswiped me in the way this one did, but wow. Yeah the ending(s) might have been telegraphed slightly, but that did not detract from the read.
On a side note - this story was written in French and then translated by the author into English. For the most part, this is not a problem, but there *are* some obvious translation errors, and ones which are repeated multiple times and become a little wearing. But if you can put all that to one side (and I encourage you to do so), then this is an excellent story.
I hope to read more from the author in the future.

Summary
In a world where Omegas are the property of the elite Alphas, locked away and treasured by those wealthy enough to buy them, John never questioned his flatmate's secondary gender. Sherlock Holmes was an Alpha through-and through.
Wasn't he?
A chance discovery turns the world on its head, and John is left grappling to come to terms with Sherlock's past as events conspire to threaten their future.

AO has never really appealed to me, but this story, by one of Sherlock fandom's excellent writers, is just so well written, and plotted, and the UST/RST, and the character development..and…and...and it just sucks you in. This has joined several other BeautifulFiction stories on my Kindle for savouring during the long vacation.

One of my favourite of Rhymer's SGA stories since it was first posted way back when. On the kindle for rereading many times.
Rodney as possibly the unwitting hero of the story. A tonne of Sheppard whump. An interesting AU of the Genii and Atlantis worlds but you can still see the canon cultures coming through. A good read all round, but i would dearly love a follow-on sometime, as there seemed to be much more to explore…if the author ever had the wish to revisit.

Absolutely sublime Sherlock-POV story, following his and John's gradual move towards a relationship. And when I say 'Sherlock-POV' I mean it - it may take a while to get to grips with the way this is written, but it's his mind that we are inhabiting and through which we see the story unfold, so it shouldn't be a surprise that the structure of the language reflects Sherlocks thought processes. But it's totally worth it - a gem.
Understandably noted as one of the classic BBC Sherlock fan fictions, and rightly so.

Summary
In some far distant future, Arthur heir Pendragon, Captain of the galley-class Kilgharrah and Prince of the Camelot, answers a distress call from the alien-besieged Ealdor. There, he finds Merlin, a plausibly-deniable sorcerer with an irresistible grin. This is the story of how the terraformation of planet Albion was threatened by the prejudices of the past, of finding solid ground and taking a stand, and of giving yourself reasons to trust.
A phantasmagorical space opera, high fantasy in a science fiction setting, this work includes cyborg Arthur, fighter-pilot Morgana, spectral dragons, Lovecraftian horrors, sentient spaceships, and a little bit of that kissing stuff.

Great series of one-shot reveals, from different angles, through different circumstances and iterations. It's not always a cozy, happily-ever-after either.
Lovely writing and some of the stories could truly be canon - if only TPTB had the writing chops and creative thinking to match this author!

Intricate, long, plotty, twisty-turny, whumpy, h/c, modern AU, focussing on Merlin & Arthur finding each other again, and the trials and tribulations they have to overcome for a happily-ever-after ending. Very well written and a great read. On the kindle for re-reading many times :-)

While clearing out Morgana’s old rooms, Merlin discovers a pair of unusual magical bracelets. Arthur wants to destroy them, of course, and so begins a quest that will take them over snowy mountains and through rain-soaked forests, dealing with Druids, bandits and inns of questionable repute. With the future of magic itself hanging in the balance and matters complicated by the changing nature of their relationship, Merlin discovers that destiny comes at a price.

Summary
When a deeply-closeted Arthur Pendragon finally earns a spot in Camelot's first XI, he's dead set on breaking records, not one of sport's last taboos. But life, like football, is a funny old game, and sometimes the only way up is out. Especially once he realises he's arse over tit for the new physio.
A queer Arthurian tale of courage, love, and football.

Lovely long AU with Arthur as an up and coming footballer and Merlin as 'Em' Emmett Emrys, the club physio with the magic hands. How Arthur and Em get together while the latter is still in the closet, and the story arc that takes them from there, via an on-field injury, to Arthur's coming out and beyond. Not a fan of footie really, but the on-field action is so well written that it's impossible not to be sucked in to all the drama as the whole gang push towards the Cup Final and Europe. And with a lovely side order of fluff, angst, h/c, and an actual story.
Slightly amended from the original version posted on KMM.

A short scene that takes place immediately before the opening of The Last Dragonlord. "I dream about it sometimes," he said quietly. "Burning. I've dreamt of burning... many times. For a long time."

Bookmarker's Notes
This is a perfectly voiced missing scene between Merlin and Arthur, showing Merlin's despair and guilt at being responsible for the dragon's wreaking havoc on Camelot. And his nightmare vision of being burnt at the stake. This is a self-aware Merlin and a thoughtful Arthur, rather the the increasingly dumbed-down King and beaten-down manservant we have had to accept in later series.
