Whizzer shakes his head and chuckles. “He doesn’t hate you. Teenage boys are absolutely horrible, regardless of how smart or good they are. He loves you, though. More than you’ll ever know.”
Trina smiles, sadness lingering subtly in her words. “Thank you, Whizzer. That… it means a lot.”
“I mean it. You deserve to feel loved, because you are. Jason and Mendel, they need you just as much you need them.”
Abruptly, Trina starts giggling to herself. Whizzer really missed hearing Trina laugh.
Whizzer raises his eyebrows. “What?”
Trina sniffles and tries to pull herself together. “Oh, I’m so sorry, it’s just… I’m getting a pep talk from my ex-husband’s boyfriend.”After years of tension, Whizzer decides to make up with Trina.
