Summary
It would be disingenuous to say that Jamil hated Kalim throughout his entire life. There was a point in time where the two were truly friends, where the feeling of comradery was mutual. Through the rose colored glasses commonly sported among children, he did not see Kalim Al-Asim, heir to the Asim family. He saw Kalim, a boy who despite being three months older than him, had to be watched closely lest he get into trouble. Someone who, despite needing to be respected, always was happy to see him and called Jamil his closest friend.
The issue was that those happy moments sprinkled throughout his childhood were tainted the moment Jamil realized the gravity of his position along with the fact that he would never be as important as his “friend.”

Kaname had already come to terms with his feelings for Tatsumi. The problem was that while his stage personality HiMERU was cool, collected, and had his shit together, he did not. At first, his crush was easy to ignore, but as time passed, he found himself more and more infatuated with the revolutionary of Remei. It didn't really help that Kaname would be making a unit with him. But thats okay, Kaname knows he can keep his feelings to himself long enough for his crush to fade away.

He meets familiar people to whom he is completely foreign.
He has been completely removed from his power, his plans, and any sense of forward movement he had been experiencing not even last week. Even worse, he's being treated as a slightly unsettling presence.

“Uhh—You’re Zanka, right?” Enjin could've sworn that the suicidal teen he talked out of that well sounded like a guy; they talked for a decent amount of time, so he should be able to tell.
Said teen stood in front of him now, and Enjin wondered if he had it all wrong. The well that he—or she—maybe they?—hid themselves in was a dark place, so Enjin couldn't exactly get a full grasp of their appearance.
