Lisa laughs then; a real filthy laugh that makes Carla feel totally weightless. The blonde casually slings her arm over the back of Carla’s chair, her face only inches away from the brunette’s as she leans in and says-

Carla blinks, her throat bobbing as she swallows. “Uh-huh?”

It’s 5:32 AM on a Saturday in December, and Lisa Swain has a plan, a flask of coffee, and a criminal amount of enthusiasm. Carla would prefer to stay in bed, but the promise of the perfect Christmas tree (and a very persistent fiancée) is hard to resist.
tl;dr: A story about early mornings, muddy boots, a tree that is definitely too big for Number 6, and finding resilience in the wonky things.

In this story, Becky is Lisa's ex-girlfriend. Lisa has a G!P, and both Lisa and Carla are biologically Betsy's parents. This story follows the everyday life of the Connor-Swain’s and Carla and Lisa’s relationship after twenty-three year’s, and a eleven year marriage - the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Some parts follow the show, while some don’t. Betsy is 16 turning 17 in this, and Ryan is younger than in the show in this, he is 25, Ryan lives with Carla and Lisa, he is also more like a son to them, Carla is 50, and Lisa is 49.
