After the final battle against Salem is wrought, humanity wins. But to them, it doesn't feel like a victory.Because Ruby is dead.
Team RWBY have searched and searched for their missing leader, but after years of no results, they've gone their separate ways. Weiss became the Head of the SDC with her brother, Yang became a huntress, working on odd jobs around Remnant, and Blake became the leader of the White Fang. They each have had to learn to live a life without Ruby Rose.
For Weiss, it's the hardest thing in the world to do. But she does it.
On the week of the anniversary of the battle, when the three of them drop everything else to do their annual hunt, things proceed as they usually do. In the mountains of Mistral, they hunt their elusive quarry and try to treat this mission as every other. It's just a normal mission. Right?
