Shouto isn't sure about meeting this "Kacchan", but Izuku seems so certain that the two of them will be absolutely perfect for each other. Denying his only friends feels impossible, so instead Shouto just agrees to go along with him. He isn't used to this kind of thing, he doesn't really get out much, but he can't deny that the drummer is just as gorgeous as his friend described. Maybe Izuku has a point after all.

Eddie doesn't believe in fairytales, not like his mom had. He could remember her leaving out little gifts for creatures, her favorite being blackberries for the fae. But after she died, Eddie found the whole thing ridiculous. It still fascinated him, though, and when he finds a journal in the library detailing research into the strange creatures, he finds himself obsessed with the new fantasy novel.

Title is from the song Mermaids by Florence + The Machine, which was a very heavy inspiration for this idea.
