Summary
“Wait! Verso, damn it, wait, what-”
Fingers close around his wrist. He freezes, paralyzed; his arms are held down again, stripping him of the ability to defend himself, and a familiar-unfamiliar voice is ringing in his ears, and he is tugged and turned around, and soon the bruises on his wrists are going to be the least of his problems, because… because…
“Verso. Verso, look at me. Hey, look at me.”
Or: Maelle brings back a certain someone from Verso's past. Things do not go well, and Verso ends up on the doorstep of the only person in Lumière who makes him feel safe.
(It's a shame things between them are not that simple.)Bookmarked by Kaniner

Summary
He should be comforting him, right?
That's what you're supposed to do, when someone loses someone important to them. You're meant to tell them that you're there for them, and show it at every opportunity. You're meant to hold them close and let them hide from the world, face tucked under your chin or pressed against your shoulder or buried into your chest. You're meant to show that you care.
Verso doesn't know how to do any of that.
It scares him, that he doesn't know when he forgot how to.
"Pick up your weapons," Monoco says, and there is no trace of anything light in his voice. He is seriously, deadly serious. "Now, Verso."

Summary
Verso is lying on the stone floor, almost indistinguishable from the broken bodies around him. Monoco flies down to him from a balcony; his feet hit the floor as he returns to his usual gestral self.
He thinks the landing was very graceful. Deserving of applause, even.
Verso doesn’t even try to look at him, missing the whole performance, and this is even more frustrating.
And… concerning.
Or: Verso is lost on Sirène’s island. Thankfully, Monoco is always able to find him.

Summary
This is unfair. Everything is unfair, and it makes him angry, and Monoco fights his mentor every single time about it, and it makes him angry, and it’s just-
He knows that Noco spends time with the impostor. He knows that they even call each other friends.
He calls it betrayal.
Noco ignores it.
For a while. For a few years. Until his patience runs out.
Or: the "Noco tied us together for a month, and now we're best friends" incident.

Summary
Verso turned towards his Paintress. “I need it to stop,” he whispered.
“Stop what?” she asked.
Verso returned to his observation of the knife. The blood had barely dried. Lune must have healed him to help along his regeneration.
“Stop what, Verso?” Maelle insisted.
“This life,” he rasped.
