"Shit," Legend says, with a "Watch where you're fucking standing," already on the tip of his tongue; as soon as he turns to see whoever he bumped into, his words dissipate from his mouth.
Like a dream.He pinches himself. He, quite honestly, cannot tell if he feels it.
"Oh," she whispers, and smiles a little hesitantly. "Link?"
"Marin?" he asks.
Marin nods. And her face breaks into a grin, and she crashes into him for a hug, and he can't do anything but return it and stare off into space and sway a little. She cries, soft, "Oh, oh Windfish, I thought I'd never see you again!"
He might be crying, too. He buries his face in her shoulder to hide it. She smells like the ocean.When the Chain is portalled into Warriors' era, Legend reunites with an old friend. He then has several crises, writes some letters, and learns how to trust reality.

Link had been relatively unbothered by his adventures. That is until he woke up stranded in the middle of the ocean with Marin's last gift. Their infant daughter: Melody.
He should have heeded the Shadow Nightmare’s warning. Forces are stirring. Evil is rising. A nightmare or two will soon be the least of their problems.
He made a promise to Marin to leave his adventurous life as a hero behind to devote himself to his new family however he had no choice but to break that promise when he was coerced into waking the Windfish. Doing so cost him far more than he was willing to part with. Now, for Melody's sake, he was determined to stick to that promise. Even if eight heavily armed men show up at his door with stories of a shadow that was wreaking havoc across time. There was no way he was ever going to leave Melody's side. Why was that so hard to understand?

“I’m in a time loop,” Link calmly and quietly starts. Not calmly Twilight realizes, Link’s mind recoils at the mere mention of it. However, some part of him is so innately exhausted that it’s numb at the concept. “Upon either my own death or Gannon's I return in time. Over time the curse has strengthened, making the time loops more and more unhinged. The circumstances of my awakening are different every time, but are rarely fortunate. No one’s been able to so much as notice the curse, but I think it’s safe to say it’s evolved to carry a very potent curse of misfortune. There’s more to the curse, but it’s powerful and inconsistent enough it’s hard to pin down with a simple name.”
