Summary
Jacen Solo spent a lot of time pondering what his Sith 'sacrifice' was going to be. As usual, he over-thought things...perhaps his sacrifice was not such a hard decision after all. Totally AU where things are a bit more plausible...and where a conversation changes the course of a galaxy.
Set somewhere in the first third of Legacy of the Force -- shortly after Jacen is named head of the Galactic Alliance Guard. I've only read the series once, so any timeline inconsistencies are purely the result of my bad memory and/or wishful thinking.

Summary
Stannis Baratheon has driven the Boltons out from Winterfell and back to the Dreadfort but at great loss. As his army recuperates at the Stark's ancestral seat, wolves rise with winter's coming. A boy is named king, a girl takes the burden of her name from another who has wrongfully suffered its weight, and a man returns from the dead in a new image. Each calls upon friends and allies to reclaim the North in the name of House Stark, but while they may join common cause in slaying the Boltons, will they be able to hold a North divided by the greatest question of all: if they can beat the Boltons, who rules next?
