    Ahh. I adore this. As I commented, I'm not usually a fan of short, contemplative works, but this one is- well it hits different. The wording and description of Near is so chilling and inhuman, I like it a lot. Also- not to spoil, but trust me when I say this is a story that's much better on the second read.

    Some REALLY goof stuff- normally I leave my bookmarks private (I'm very shy about sharing what I read) but holy crap is this just- an incredible read??? My soft spot for moonriver aside, this is a great platonic read if you're tired of or don't like romance.
    I was never really on Light's /side/ in canon, so thanks to this fic I actually found myself rooting for him for once! Anyone who knows me knows I adore Near, so I'll be sure to recommend this fic to anyone who doesn't like him- I think it gets across his nuances and traits that are often missed/misinterpreted a lot (especially that one line about his awkwardness being mistaken for arrogance- perfection).
    There's just some incredible character/relationship building here, and best of all it feels so- /natural/. This author has a strong grasp on all of the characters, and it really shows. I definitely say give it a go! It's going on the list of my favourites, that's for sure!
