Summary
After winning the Ceremonial Duel, Atem receives a second chance at life in his own body. But existence in the modern world proves more challenging than any shadow game.
With the support from his friends and (surprisingly) his rival, Atem attempts to live in the modern 21st century. However, how can he live a peaceful life if he cannot figure what his new purpose is? Watch the Pharaoh life through his normal life while dealing with things he's never felt before.
When the past decides to stay unrested, Atem must choose to continue in this peaceful life or take the mantle once again as protector of the world.

“You know,” the prince started, and Merlin grunted in frustration, turning away. Princes were always the same, “I don’t appreciate you talking about my father like that.”
Merlin stopped and narrowed his eyes, before slowly looking back at the prince. He studied the prince's face intently.
“And who, exactly, would your father be?” he asked, fury crackling through the calm sounding words. He was not in the mood to be played with by a prince.
“Uther Pendragon,” the prince said calmly.
Merlin’s tail lashed so hard against the rock next to him a large piece of it chipped off, rocketing through the air and over the edge of the mountain.

Merlin was cursed to be a dragon, which was fine. It was fine, he was fine, he was happy, thank you very much. Everything was great.
Except for all these knights and princes that kept bothering him. That, that was not fine. It was annoying. It definitely wasn't the only human interaction he ever got, he was fine.
So if this odd group of knights and their king would leave, that would be wonderful.

Summary
"Get away from her!" the girl snarled at Merlin, trying to sidestep Hunith.
"You get away from her!" snapped Merlin. "You're the one waving a sword around!" He didn't have much room to maneuver, and it was ridiculous for him to be hiding behind a woman who was a fraction of his size. But Hunith was clearly trying to stay between them, and he had no particular desire to jump in front of someone who wielded a sword with that much fervor.
"Morgana, listen to me! He isn't dangerous!"
"Are you mad?" Morgana backed up two paces, though she still held her blade at the ready. "That's a bloody dragon!"
