Summary
For various reasons - including an assassination attempt and somebody's terrible language skills - Vimes and Vetinari end up at a Quirmian wedding pretending to be a couple.

This is my new comfort fic; updates may be irregular and tags will be added as we go, but I do have a Plan(TM). Admittedly a large part of the Plan is to see just how many fun romance tropes I can squeeze into one fic, but hopefully it'll be entertaining for someone other than me.
It's rated E for eventual smut, but the early chapters are Teen and up.

Now bearing such an uncanny resemblance to a man long dead, Vimes causes a stir among those that remember those last few days at the barricades.
No reaction is stranger, or more consequential, than that of Havelock Vetinari.

It’d only taken one time of Tav trying to keep pace with Minsc while out drinking for her to confess all of her secrets. Thankfully, she didn’t keep many. But she did keep one, tucked away next to her heart. Feelings for a tiefling with eyes of fire, the flames shifting in the evening light. She could feel the warmth of them even now, heating her ribs before sinking lower into her gut to cool alongside her guilt. Tav hadn’t seen Zevlor since the day they fought the elder brain.
A month after her great victory Tav is walking with Scratch and runs into the person she is most afraid, and most desperate to see.

Summary
You are Tav, the hero of Baldur’s Gate. Your friend Zevlor has fallen mysteriously ill, but luckily you hold the cure for his terrible malady.
Zevlor is having a spectacularly shitty week. Not only has his rut hit him for the first time in years, but the oblivious human Tav keeps wafting her delicious smell and insisting on touching him. He’s trying to be a proper gentleman and to behave with decorum appropriate for an older commander, but Tav is determined to make this as hard as possible for him.
Not even the end of his rut will spare him from Tav's temptations.
Whatever will they do?

Things soon take a turn for the magical and leave Emhyr stranded far out in the northern wilderness – as luck would have it, or perhaps it was fate – dependent on one white haired Witcher. Ciri meanwhile finds herself abruptly on the throne of the empire, forced to take responsibility much sooner than she had anticipated.

Had they been in Elturel, perhaps Zevlor would have understood this as a come-on. But as it were, Zevlor forced himself to settle his thoughts. He took a deep breath and instantly regretted it. Shepherd smelled of ripened fruit, honey-sweet and ready for the taking. His heat was close, perhaps a month or two at the latest, but the smell of pre-heat lingered on his skin. Zevlor could damn near taste his fertility in the air.
