Here is something that I started months ago. Originally intended for the Sherlolly Appreciation Week, and still following that same format. This story follows our favorite two individuals through a few of the best tropes out there. Set during HLV and goes through S4. Have fun reading! Hope you like it!

Colin leaves a night out with his brother confused, displeased- Other. To take a mistress- what could possibly be the appeal? How could he even think to stay there a moment longer, when the very thought made him sick?
But as he walks home and reminisces, thinks of his wife and the respect he has for her, he remembers. Remembers that night in the carriage.
And recalls her, Penelope, the love of his life, fresh from reaching her pinnacle at his hand, staring at the clean palm he outstretched to her with eyes wide as a lamb's, asking him But won't your family see me?

“I guess…I know that I can be fun and witty and…interesting. But whenever I talk to men, it’s like…all my good qualities get lost between my head and my mouth and I end up saying Way. Too. Much.” Colin looked confused, so she clarified. “I babble.”
“I have never heard you babble,” Colin said with confidence, as though that meant she didn’t babble.
“Well, I don’t babble in front of you.”
“But I am a man,” Colin pointed out.
Penelope scoffed. “You don’t count. You’re Colin.”
He furrowed his brow. “What does that mean?”
“Well, I am not trying to flirt with you, mainly,” Penelope laughed. This was only partly true. It’s not that she was ‘not trying to flirt’ with Colin, but rather that she was always trying not to flirt with him.
