    Being a demigod is challenging, especially when your own father refuses to speak with you, on how much they avoided engaging with wizards and witches. When Ron found out about this, he thought to himself that 'maybe' he was just a mistake. However, getting to know new people and coming to terms with his kinds 'maybe' possibly one day alter someone's perspective about them. This is Ron's life, and how he has managed to live with it.

    ("The Bearers of Phoebus" is the rewritten version of this story, now split into parts to avoid cramming all the chapters into one.)

    Summary

    The fic diverges from canon from the time Ron leaves and then returns during the Horcrux hunt. It will take a darker turn as Ron witnesses extreme brutality at the hands of the snatchers and then learns how far the wizarding world has already fallen as he recovers in Shell Cottage. Armed with this information Ron returns and the trio has to deal with war in its barest and ugliest form.

    Please note:
    In this fic, Voldemort isn't an idiot making mistakes which miraculously help the trio. And neither are battle hardened death eaters shy of committing grave acts of violence and other sin. Any victory over them would be hard fought, requiring sacrifices and making hard choices.

    It is also dark in nature so I will try my best to pepper it with some comedy. Will try to update as frequently as I can.

    Also, I can't recommend Fate by TrueSpartan enough. Choices by Random Fruitcake was great too. A slightly different but an equally engaging work is Waking Up by Hillnerd

    Ron Weasley dies at the Battle of Hogwarts. Death comes to collect him but instead of finality, he offers a wager over a chess. If Ron wins, he may go back and change everything.

    Ron wins and respawns as his six-year-old self.

    Unfortunately, that self comes with war flashbacks, a front row seat to how badly everything went the first time, and the deeply unpleasant realisation that his entire family is basically walking into a slaughterhouse if he doesn’t intervene.

     

    (or, Ron time travel fix it with loads of worldbuilding and a side of dimension travel for funsies.)
