Kingsley was dead, and the Queen was leading Gareth to the throne beside her. It didn’t seem a smart decision to contradict a woman who had just killed someone, so he did his best to play along. She had a vicious look about her, like a viper or a scorpion, and she’d just acquired the whole of Valencia and most of King Richard’s army, leftover from the invasion.

It wasn’t until the Neighbourhood Watch started discussing what to do with Nicholas and whether they could still conceivably stage his accidental death that Danny realised how deeply screwed he was.
The NWA were taking every precaution they could. They would not let Nicholas out of Sandford alive, which would make Danny’s job of sneaking him out a lot harder.
Or, Nicholas hesitates too long and is caught by the NWA. Danny suggests keeping Nicholas prisoner in his house and plans to help Nicholas escape Sandford.
