Summary
There was a soft melodic humming sound, so low that you’d miss it over the sound of the waves lapping at the beach unless you were listening for it. The sun shone so brightly at this time of day, there was a beautiful sparkling light playing against the waves as a young boy emerged from the sea. His wet curls framed his face. He tied the drawstring on a pair of wildly colored swim shorts as he came out of the ocean.

They’d saved the world, well sort of, Vanya had blown up the moon and it was about to annihilate life on earth as they knew it. Five had thrown a quick idea out there, he was going to time travel all of them out of there. Not having his entire family die seemed like a plan so Klaus was all for it, he was relieved to see everyone was on board. They’d gathered in a circle on the stage at the Icarus theater and as they all joined hands he glanced up when Diego didn’t take his.
“Diego!?!? Where are you going?” Diego was running behind the back stage curtain. He was only gone a moment before they saw him return with a small child in his arms.

"I saw my wife die. It's a pain that I couldn't even describe to you. I knew Buck was dead on that gurney, and I didn't want you to see that. Living through the pain of watching someone you love die and not save them. I didn't want to burden you with that." Eddie feels seen by Bobby's words, a closet made of glass, but it doesn't make him panic. It makes him feel safe like he's not alone in this pain that is torturing him. "I didn't know if he would get his heartbeat back or die in the ambulance, and I didn't know if you could survive that. I don't think I could survive that," Bobby's voice breaks and cracks struggling with the honesty of that sentence, and the honesty hits Eddie's chest, so he lets the rage and frustration under his skin fade away.
"I felt his ribs break. I broke his ribs to get his heart back," Eddie confesses to Bobby with a barely audible whisper, "I don't think I can survive knowing that sound, Bobby," His lungs are screaming at him to cry, but he still can't let the tears run.

The good news: They’ve made it out of the Sparrow timeline.
The bad news: They’re still not home. One timeline closer, but things still aren’t right. It’s 2013 and there’s an Umbrella Academy, at least; one where Five never time traveled.
It’s a race for the Hargreeves to all catch up with one another, Five to figure out how to get them home (for real this time), and stay one step ahead of a Commission no longer on their side. The other Five would also really like to know how his world is supposed to end in six short years.
