Lexi knows that when she wakes up in a few hours, she’s going to be faced with the biggest onslaught of shit she’s had to deal with in years, that it’s going to fall on her to try and piece the broken shards of Cassie back together, that she’s going to have to deal with the fact that Rue’s mom still doesn’t know where she is hours after she last saw her. She knows all of this, knows it far too well.
But when Fez presses a kiss to the side of her head and murmurs, “G’night, Lex,” into her hair, she lets herself push all of it away for that one moment, and finally she falls into a blissful sleep.
