Summary
It's another normal day for #83 of the Genius Society. She's back in her domain, the Herta Space Station, to analyze a set of new Curios that were just brought in. Her assistants are all working hard, the only Stellaron she's had to contend with for years has been an obedient baseballer, and above all she is not thinking about Ruan Mei. Herta is doing literally anything in the world other than thinking about Ruan Mei and thus balance is achieved.
Herta's messenger goes off in the middle of transporting her new discoveries and suddenly she is thinking of nothing in the world other than Ruan Mei.

Herta has eyes everywhere on the station. And Ruan Mei knows this. She struts around the station with impunity, taking what she wants and leaving without so much as a backward glance. But at 23:01:15 local system time in a restricted lab room in the Seclusion Zone, Herta sees something quite curious indeed through one of her puppet's eyes. Ruan Mei, her silk shawl strewn on the floor, her lidded eyes so close and her mouth so much closer to her synthetic lips, doing something very markedly private.
So Herta decides to take an excursion to her space station to find out what exactly the 81st member of the Genius Society intends to play at.
or, Herta confronts Ruan Mei and decides to help with her experiment in a show of... good faith.
