The shulk nodded, “Yeah. Not sure how long it’s had it, but someone spotted it. Might’a snatched it off someone who had docked here for a while, or maybe it’s been hiding it in the trees since it got here, who knows. But I reckon there ain’t much of the kid left at this point"
“What-” Phil broke off, inhaling deeply. “What was the child, do you know?” He asked.
Unfortunately, things took a terrible, jolting turn when the shulk answered. “Elytreen chick, I think. Little downy feather wings an’ everything.”
Phil didn’t wait.

well not alone anymore, he's got this really small adorable looking alien now! and he's in too deep, he's already sworn his life to the guy.
Tommy picks up alien friends left and right to slowly work his way around space to survive. His hell through space does not prevent the affection that his heart still retains and he slowly begins to heal the scars that have been formed from being treated like an experiment, an animal.
now if only he could talk to them.

Summary
Wilbur breathes in, but his toes twitch to step inside. It feels like a safe haven, a shelter from war. So far away from everything else, detached.
As he steps inside, he —
He hears a baby.
A baby is crying.
He strains his ears to find the origin of the sound, and he settles on the door on the right side. His feet clatter against the floors — a material he can’t identify — until his footsteps fade into a bedroom’s doorway.
He sees nothing, but he hears everything.
A bundle of blankets hides a bundle of joy. As he approaches, he makes out the figure of a baby. Blonde curls originate from its small scalp as it reaches its hands out and kicks its legs.
“Oh,” Wilbur breathes, voice gentle as his hands scoop under the baby and lift it. “My, aren’t you a beauty?”
The baby’s eyes open as he rocks it back and forth, and they’re so sweet. Big, baby blue eyes are wide as they look up at Wilbur, little babbles arising from his throat as his cries subside. A small, almost impossible-to-see smile stretches across its face. It giggles.
Wilbur finds a baby during World War 2.

tommy was sure the diamonds loved him, the way they laughed at his jokes, how they hugged him close, how they would argue over who could hold him. tommy felt loved and loved his diamonds with his entire being. so when dream told him that the others were upset with him, tommy couldn't help the panic that rose.
tommy would do anything to make his diamonds happy, if that meant playing hide seek in the garden thousands of light years away, then he would.

Summary
Phil doesn’t cry.
But as he stands before Tommy, his shoulders shaking, and his eyes shining in the moonlight, he’s about as close as he gets to it. Tommy reaches up to grab his hand with his smaller ones. He hadn’t meant to make him sad.
He just wanted to tell him how much he missed his dad!
How he didn’t mind dying if it meant Phil would be his family again.
“You’re not supposed to be this…this small. Is this how bad we failed you?” It’s barely said over a whisper. Tommy has to strain his ears to even make out the words.
“I promise Tommy,” Phil says his eyes growing a fire in them. “We’re going to make this right. We’ll make it go away.”
And under the snowfall of the arctic winds. Tommy can’t help but believe him.
