Re-post and Expansion of: 'In Which Buck's 'Therapy' is NOT Brushed Off'
What if someone had noticed how off Buck was after his therapy session and actually asked about it?
Buck gets some actual help after being assaulted, alongside the ‘jokes’ at the 118 – which help tell him exactly how he is thought of there, and does not endear his co-workers to him. With Buck not holding on to the ‘firefam’ so tight from the start, things change drastically for him – and yet other things not at all.
A Buck who grows with his storyline, and is not his co-workers punching bag. He works overtime at other stations, so his social circle grows.

Summary
It’s a well known fact that Buck is a good guy. Everyone knows that. Hell: the LAFD as a whole probably knows how good of a guy Buck is. He did save a dozen people during the tsunami while he was off duty while he was recovering and on blood thinners. A feat that the 118 hadn’t been aware of until one year after the tsunami, when one of the victims spoke up and named him as Firefighter Buck. The LAFD had recognized him for his bravery and Buck? He’d brushed it off like it was nothing.
So yeah, Buck’s a good guy. A great guy. But does he know how great he is? You would tell him and he would probably brush it off and tell you he’s just as good as everyone else.
The 118 know this, of course they do, but it all starts to come into clarity for them on a
stormy day when Buck shows up to work looking like a wet dog and one by one, they notice the little things that Buck does for them.Or: a 7+1 where the 118 realize just how GOOD Buck is. Comfort, no hurt.

Summary
After the tsunami that devastated Los Angeles, Athena goes to the rescue after a report of people in need of help. To her horror, she finds Christopher and Buck stranded amidst the wreckage of the city. And Buck’s leg is pinned — the same leg that had only just healed from being crushed by a ladder truck.
As time runs out, Buck is being crushed all over again, and Athena faces an impossible choice.
