Summary
Merlin turned and rattled about with the crockery, reaching up high on his tiptoes while Arthur thought lurid and filthy thoughts about him, such as Merlin sitting next to him on Arthur’s favourite windowsill and telling Arthur he was his friend.
In which the sorceress never takes Lady Helen’s form, and Merlin doesn’t save Arthur at the banquet.

Summary
His body probably hides Eddie from view. But Buck can look at him.
Eddie is still latched on, his cheek pressed to Buck’s skin. His eyes are closed, his face the picture of pleasure itself. Of hedonism. Buck hasn’t ever seen Eddie look like this before. He never wants to see him look anything less than this blissed out. If Buck has to donate blood to the cause, he’ll damn well cut his own veins open.
He’s greedy too. He wants Eddie’s mouth elsewhere.
Or: Eddie shows up at Buck's loft hours after Chris left, upset. Buck isn't going to turn him away, no matter what Eddie turns out to be into. Or turns into.

Summary
He knows he could have called Maddie and she would have been there, though the memory of her disappointment last time stopped him. As for everyone else—even if he weren’t prohibited from talking to them by his lawyer, Buck doubts anyone would have come. The last time they talked was when they ran into each other in the grocery store a week back, and, since Buck is not eager for a repeat of that interaction, he doesn’t even consider calling anyone in to hold his hand for what is, he tells himself, probably just another little blip on his road back to the 118.
He is able to convince himself of this up until the moment Dr. Gutierrez walks into his room and says, “Well, Evan, you just can’t seem to do anything the easy way, can you?”
Because, as it turns out, there is a circumstance under which a tiny clot that doesn’t cause you to vomit blood in front of all of your friends and family is worse than three big ones that do: that circumstance is called ‘being on blood thinners.’

Summary
When the firefighter walks into Eddie's coffeeshop, Eddie immediately knows two things about him: he's not human, and he's the love of Eddie's life.
Oh, he knows a bunch of other things too, obviously. He's about thirty, a few months younger than Eddie himself. He has a scar on his throat, like he got stabbed there, and one of his legs has some metal rods in it that must have come from a bad injury. The guy doesn't know he's not human, which is a tricky thing to figure out, but Eddie's almost positive. Most of the non-humans he knows have always known they aren't people, but there are exceptions, and they tend to carry themselves differently. Ana before her first full moon as a werewolf had a very different vibe from Ana after.
The firefighter moves like he knows he doesn't belong, but not like he knows why. Like he's afraid of taking up space, afraid of being noticed.
As if Eddie is even capable of not noticing him.

Summary
"Hey, I— uh… need some help?" The guy says, voice strained and nasal, a hand trying to stop the blood very unsuccessfully.
"Who are you?" Eddie asks as he guides the man to one of the stretchers on the school's sickbay.
"I'm the new gym teacher." The guy says, giving Eddie a bloody and crooked smile. "I'm Evan Buckley but please just call me Buck."
"What even happened? Class hasn't even started yet." Eddie mutters, putting on some gloves and pressing gauze on the man's nose, trying to stop the bleeding.
"It's fine, really," The gym teacher is saying with forced cheer as Eddie reaches forward to clean the wound. "It looks worse than it feels."
The guy is bending his face backwards, almost looking at the ceiling and Eddie gently but firmly guides it forward— not wanting the new teacher to choke on his own blood.

"And now, folks, let's begin with your favorite part of the night." Eddie can practically hear the smirk on Buck's face. "9-1-1 Cupid, what's your heartbreak?"
Eddie smiles despite himself and gets more comfortable on the couch.
"Who will be our first caller tonight?"
He doesn't register what he's doing until it's too late. It's like his brain temporarily disconnects from himself and when Eddie comes back to reality, his phone is on his hand and glued to his ear.
"I have a crush on you," he blurts out the second Buck picks up, surprising even himself. Seriously, why is he doing any of this? Why can't he stop? Maybe he drank more beer than he thought. He should've kept a better eye on it.

Summary
“I know we just got engaged,” Tommy chuckles nervously and walks back to where Evan is standing, his hands grabbing the other side of their grocery cart. “And I don't want to pressure you, there's no rush. We can stay engaged for years, if you want to.”
If he's being honest, Tommy would rather do it sooner than later, but he can be patient for Evan.
“No, that's not—” Evan makes a small sound at the back of his throat, and then realization washes over him. “Oh God, wait, you were serious last night?”
“W-what do you mean if I was serious?” Tommy sputters, “Of course I was!”
And then, Evan laughs.
Like a full on belly laugh, a crackle that booms through the grocery store's aisles.
Tommy does not find it funny, nor amusing.

Summary
But he can use the context clues; like Evan's extreme and irrational jealousy, or the way Christipher won't shut up about the man and how amazing he is and all the great and cool things they've done together or how Evan can cook way better than Eddie and Evan kills it at science projects.
The fact that there's a reminder of Evan Buckley in almost every corner of the Diaz' house isn't lost on Tommy, either.
And really, there's this universal truth: the gays can never have a normal fucking break-up.
or;
Tommy thinks Buck and Eddie used to date and never really got over each other... he is very tired and confused. But it makes some feeling realizations come to light and a pair of idiots to see what they've been missing all along, so it's all good.Bookmarked by JackWritesBack

Summary
Bobby would like the record to state that he did not intend to be this much of an asshole about it. Quite frankly, it had been an unforeseeable turn of events completely out of his control as long as you ignored the fact he had done it on purpose and enjoyed every second of it. Because Bobby Nash was not a spiteful man. He could, however, be a very petty one.
---
The Buckley parents happen to be in town around Buck’s birthday, and they let something slip about his non-existent baby box. Bobby decides to do something about it.

Summary
If Buck could build a time machine, there are three things in his life that he would change.
The first, and most glaringly obvious, is that he would have marched up to Chase Mackey and slapped the business card out of his hand. He then would scream at past-Buck and tell him what an idiotic move pursuing the lawsuit would be.
If that wasn't satisfying enough, he would go even further back to the truck bombing and position himself in such a way that when the truck went over it didn't just land on his leg. It would be kinder, he thinks, to have it all just be over. To save the 118 the extended guilt of his desperation to hang on to his imagined place in the family.
If he was the most honest with himself though, there was only one true answer for what he would do with his time machine. He would go back to before he was conceived and save the world the trouble of bringing Evan Buckley into it.
Unfortunately he hadn't figured out time travel just yet, and is instead stuck with the usual man-behind duties that comes with being the 118's biggest nuisance.

Summary
Eddie freezes at the doorway, tray in hand, the voices drifting from inside stopping him cold.
“Oh, your stepdad doesn’t live with you?” Mark asks, gesturing to a framed photo of Buck and Christopher.
There’s a beat of silence—too long, too loaded.Eddie’s heart stutters, thudding hard against his ribs as he waits, breath held. God's really decided to test him today.
Then Christopher answers, casually, like it’s the easiest thing in the world. “No… he lives in L.A.”
or Eddie overhears a conversation between Christopher and his friend, then proceeds to spiral about being in love with Buck while also being insanely jealous of 118's new recruit

Summary
It’s a disaster. There’s nothing for Eddie to do now but rip the Bandaid off.
“I’vebeenlookingatyourGooglehistory,” he says, all at once.
Buck blinks. “You’ve been what?”
“I’ve been—” Eddie breaks off with a huff, and then forces his eyes back up to Buck’s. “I went to the Google home page,” he starts again. “To search the thing about the coupling nut. But then when I clicked on the search bar, the recent history was not mine, because—”
A look of comprehension has begun to dawn on Buck’s face, suddenly.
“Because I was logged in on the iPad,” he says slowly.

Summary
“Can I help you?” Eddie asks cautiously.
Christopher opens his mouth, but nothing comes out. His mind blanks. All the scenarios he imagined—the ways this might play out—scatter out like dust.
Finally, he manages, “This is gonna be hard to believe, specially for you, but— I'm Christopher. Your son. I, uh, come from the future?” His voice turns higher at the end of the sentence and it makes it sound more like a question than the fact he was trying to announce.
Eddie freezes.
“What?” His voice is sharp, disbelieving, and his posture gets more defensive. He can see a hint of anger simmering underneath. “Look, man, if this is some kind of sick joke—”
Christopher swallows hard, forcing himself to stand straighter. “Dad. It’s me.”
