Turning up on Coach's doorstep at two thirty in the morning was infinitely, infinitely more awkward.

Summary
The second time that Jamie shows up, smirking and announcing that he can't participate in training because he's hurt is so much worse than the first time. He's changed a lot, grown up a lot, and no one knows why he's acting like this again when he's put so much time and effort into not being that person anymore. It feels like history is repeating itself, except... something isn't adding up.
Sam is the one who puts it together, who sees the proof that Jamie very much is hurt, and has led everyone to believe that he isn't by telling them that he is in a way that sounded like an obvious lie. It makes his head spin, and he doesn't know what to do. Thankfully, his team captain and his coaches are there to figure it out.
(Hypothetical season 3 timeline. Completely gen. Jamie is hurt in an accident. He doesn't handle it well.)

Natasha scooted towards Peter, her eyes on the rebar that she could now see gruesomely sticking out of his leg, blood coating the pole and pooled on the ground below him. Quickly untucking her shirt, she began ripping some strips off the bottom of it.
“Peter,” she started softly, looking up at him, “I’m going to try and stop the bleeding OK?” Peter glanced down at her and nodded. She could see the vein in the side of his neck pulsing, and wondered how long he could hold the concrete before it crushed them all. Quickly putting that thought out of her head, Natasha went to start wiping away the blood around his wound. Once she’d cleaned it as well as she could, she went to staunch the flow, then frowned, confused.
“Huh.”
“What?” Tony snapped, worried and stressed.
“He… It doesn’t look like he’s bleeding anymore.”
____OR, after an explosion brings down a building on top of them, Peter is the only thing between Tony, Natasha and certain death. Trapped under rubble together, well... nothing builds bonds like shared trauma.

Peter felt sick as he sat on the off-balanced, scuffed, peeling, red, three-legged stool that occupied all the desks in the chem lab.
His stomach was twisting and turning, thrashing as if attempting to escape the cage of flesh and skin that it resided in.
It birthed a pressure in his core that suddenly made him hyper-aware of each and every hollow breath that entered his lungs.
Every involuntary twitch of his hands that rested against the cool surface of the lab desks.
The teacher's voice rang in and out of focus, so he could only catch certain words like “reaction” “isotopes” and “cobalt mixtures” without actually comprehending what they meant together.
His eyes burned as the mundane colors of the schoolroom lit with mid-afternoon sun became increasingly bright, sickeningly vibrant in its off-tone hues that made it impossible to see the scratches of whiteboard marker on the wall in front of him, detailing the process they were supposed to perform.
What was wrong with him?

The Doctor is breaking. Jack can see it in her eyes. Every day, he can see her crumbling slowly, folding into herself. Struggling to cope with this new Doctor, this shadow of the Doctor he used to know, Jack has to save her before he loses her entirely. And he's going to need help to do so.
