Eito adds his treasure to his collection: printed photographs of Takumi around campus, a button that fell off his jacket, a single red hair from a seat in the cafeteria, a piece of chewed gum kept intact in its wrapper, a slightly bloody razor that Takumi left behind in the communal bathroom. Takumi shaves so carelessly that sometimes there are small cuts on his chin, clusters of dried blood on his face. He’s so beautiful, and so, so ugly, such a horrible, hopeless mess.

Takumi has a very specific mental image of Eito. White, almost blindingly so, with his collar so high up that Takumi only barely catches glimpses of his neck.
So he fixates on it. He fixates on it so badly he wants to put something on it, and suddenly it becomes everyone's problem.

Takumi lived a dull life in a cheap high rise apartment complex with walls so thin he could smell the trash leaking into the floor. One day, his neighbor died. People liked to talk and point fingers, but no one wanted to be the culprit. It could be a ghost, a violent suicide, or there could be a murderer amongst them. Another day, Takumi met his new neighbor, Eito. From that day onward, his life changed completely.

Takumi moaned in relief as his teeth tore into the skin with ease. It was the blood of his most hated enemy. So thick and sweet and rich, drops clinging to his tongue like the blood was returning to its owner.
It was a glorious feast with Eito’s screams as dessert.
Takumi goes back in time to change everything. His sudden desire to drink blood slightly complicates that.

All Takumi could process was a mental list of options available to him. Sirei wasn’t going to let Aotsuki use the Revive-O-Matic even if Takumi got on his knees and begged, and he’d probably lost too much of his cryptoglobin to use it, anyways. The only commander on the scene had just gone up in smoke, and Takumi couldn’t sacrifice anyone else, not for this. This was his selfish action. His selfish wish. His selfish choice.

Summary
The very first thing for him to notice when his senses came back one after another was the warm breath tingling on his face from someone being way too close. The second was the absence of the hard, dusty ground, replaced with soft and warm sheets. The third one was the smell of antiseptic, mixed with blood and sweat.
“Takumi…?”
When he tried to move, a warm hand touched his bandaged back, briefly helping him to properly sit up. Out of instinct, Eito wanted to push it away, but his body was sore and bruised, deeming him unable to put up any kind of resistance.
“You’re in the infirmary. You—”
“I should be dead.”
After leaving Last Defense Academy, Eito is ready to spend his remaining days in solitude until death would inevitably knock on his door. He didn't expect that from all the leftover people on this planet, Takumi would be the one spoiling his plan once again.

Eito leaned in close, too close for Takumi’s comfort as the former grabbed his cheeks. There’s faint tear marks down his eyes as he whispered. “Save them this time, or I’m going to control you once more when you wake and kill you myself.”
Takumi screamed as searing hot pain went through his body. Eito faded with him, closing his eyes for what may be the last time.In the middle of his second scenario, Takumi had chosen to kill Eito instead, which lead to him sharing his consciousness. He had turned back time just a bit to spare him, and continued on with the second scenario. By the end of this timeline, Takumi was ready to die with all his friends' hopes and dreams, yet Eito was unwilling, using Shion and his own cryptoglobin to send Takumi back in time for a third giant leap.
Now, Takumi has to navigate a third scenario, overcome unbidden feelings and reunite with old friends in order to ensure the peace of both humanity and Futurans alike.Bookmarked by JCKA
