As we all know, the TV series Merlin ended with everyone almost dying horribly but then totally not dying because it would be way too fucking heartbreaking for Arthur to fucking die. SO glad that this very talented author executed so beautifully on the rest of the story and definitely didn't rewrite a tragic ending to give a beautiful, meaningful absolution to the most drawn out slow burn of all time.
This is, in a word, fucking spectacular.
