“Yeah, I’m fine,” Vegas says, but then his smile turns wicked, a hand coming up to catch Pete’s wrist, pressing a quick kiss to his palm. “Unless of course you’re just looking for an excuse to play nurse…?”
Pete raises an eyebrow, a corner of his mouth ticking up.
“Want me to tuck you into bed? Maybe wipe your fevered brow?” Pete leans in close. “I can think of a few interesting places to stick a thermometer…”
Vegas reaches over without looking and closes his laptop before standing, still holding Pete’s wrist. His grin widens.
“Come on, you don’t need a thermometer to know I’m hot-”
Pete rolls his eyes, and things quickly devolve from there; Vegas can’t be feeling too badly all things considered.
