    “And Lucifer,” Vox continues conversationally as he rubs his fingertips over the hot, strained fabric. “I know you’re not a big fan of the guy. I can see why—he is so beneath the both of us.”

    “Y-yes,” Alastor gasps, bucking into Vox’s touch. “He is.”

    “It was thrilling, wasn’t it? To see someone finally put him in his place. Completely decimate him in front of all those people; people who were once his.”

    “I—I’ve been wanting to do that.”

    “I’m sure.” Vox unbuttons Alastor’s slacks, slow and unhurried like he isn’t seconds away from snapping and just ripping all his clothes off. “But it was me who did it. I humiliated the King of Hell. Not you.”

    After the rally, Vox finds Alastor hot and bothered in his chair from watching him expertly manipulate the crowd. It's truly his winning day.

    Of all the demons who could have possibly inherited his contract. Why did it have to be Vox? The pompous, obnoxious, desperate television demon who had been oh so obsessed with him for ages. And Vox would never let him go. Not now that he had him. What he’d wanted for so long now, always just out of his reach. No, nothing could persuade him to give him up.

     

    Vox gets ahold of Alastor's soul, and he intends to take full advantage of his new acquisition. Unfortunately, his feelings for the man make everything a bit more complicated. But Alastor might just come to realize that Vox owning his soul isn't actually the worst thing.

    Ao3's formatting continues to defeat me. Why do you remove my indents? I don't know why it hates me, but at the time of positing this I've been working on this for like 2 hours. I'm tired. I want to go to bed. The story is readable. That's all I care about. Peace.

    Came for the "Alastor rescues Vox" premise.
    Stayed for the massive and detailed worldbuilding, the many endearing and fascinating OCs (good and evil and in-between), the knee-slapping humour, Alastor accidentally ending up the uncle of ~30 children and hating it, Vox and Alastor being the cutest psychopathic couple ever, a whole playlist to discover through the fic, union hero Vox, Charlie's dysfunctional family and the exploit of keeping the story thrilling, fun and intense despite this fic being literally as long as the Bible.
