Summary
There’s not a prison in the world that can hold Malcolm Graves. He just needs to keep telling himself that. Problem is, being a living battery to some eldritch creature leaves you too much time for thinking.

Being on the run means there isn’t much chance to sleep in, or enjoy a warm bed- not often anyway, so surely just five more minutes can’t hurt?

Summary
Either the fin was giving Viktor much more trouble than he'd expected, or he was stalling. The worst of winter was already behind them, which meant a downstream slide to spawning season was lurking around the metaphorical corner, but Viktor hadn't even settled on a final design, much less a working prototype. He looked as if he was making progress today; he'd been hunched over his worktop for hours, only occasionally setting down his arc torch to swipe at his forehead and straighten his spine with a horrifying crack. Eventually, he'd hold his work up to the light, squint at Jayce, and shake his head, and the half-formed prosthetic would join its cousins on the scrap heap.
Jayce didn't mind. Every day he stayed here was another day of finding something else about Viktor he liked to look at.
merman jayce washes out of the ocean after an injury. viktor is only too happy to have something new to tinker with.

Summary
Natasha gathers her things with practiced efficiency. “You busy later?” she asks.
“I had not planned to be.”
“Good. You’re coming with me.”
Thor blinks, “To the gala?”
“No,” Natasha says, already halfway back into the room. “Before.”
He studies her for a moment, searching her face for the joke she hasn’t made. “And what would my role be?” he asks carefully.
She shrugs, “You’re a prince. You’ve been to these things. You know what matters.”
A pause; it’s small, nearly invisible. “If you wish,” Thor says at last.
Natasha’s mouth twitches, just barely. “I do.” She turns and heads for the door without waiting to see if he follows.
After a beat, Thor does. He matches her stride easily, hands folded behind his back again, expression settled into something neutral and composed. If there’s anything else there, anticipation, curiosity, something softer, it stays carefully unspoken.
Thor volunteers for a mission he isn’t meant to take seriously. Natasha takes him dress shopping anyway. Somewhere between fabric swatches, quiet confessions, and a ruined gown, a memory resurfaces, one that is funny, tender, and already gone.
