But for her best friend's destination wedding, she would be doing exactly that.
She just had to get through four nights of close quarters with her extremely hot ex that she was in love with, who couldn't keep his eyes to himself if his life depended on it, all while the voices in her head (and her best friends) whispered to her that they should've never broken up in the first place. He's got one chance to dance with her in rehearsal. As he takes his spot at the front of the room, he knows that this is not simply a rehearsal. It's an audition.

The room was down with obscurity as well, and as her eyes adjusted the darkness, the panic feeling disappeared from her chest. As she could tell by the lack of lighting, a figure was laying down in the bed, she couldn't see his eyes. She wondered if he still woke up even with her non-existent sounds.
“Annabeth?” Percy asked, confirming her thoughts , his voice was deep and sleepy.
Then he straightened up in bed immediately. “What is it? Are we under attack? Are you okay? Did something happened to you —”
“Nothing happened, Percy.” she reassured her boyfriend, even though her weary and quiet tone said otherwise. “The ship is safe. I just wanted —” Annabeth took a deep breath. “ I just wanted to see if you are… safe too.” she trailed off, looking to the floor, giving her left foot all of her weight.
“Oh,” There was a moment of silence, and after one, two, three seconds, “Come here, Annabeth.” his voice was so pleading, as if he wouldn't survive if she didn't.
