Summary
Kotone dies, and Shinjiro has to act like he's okay with it.
He pretends he is, in front of the others. He pretends he's moving forward with his life, but in all honesty, he'd give anything to go back. Nothing matters anymore, now that Kotone's gone.
And now he's gotten himself stuck in a time loop, reliving the same day over and over, chasing familiar-looking Shadows through an inverted Tartarus. He's forced to face his regrets again, and again, and again.
He hates it. He's always thinking about the what-ifs, the what-could-have-beens, all the things he could have had if he hadn't been such a coward.
He doesn't need all this metaphorical bullshit too.

She shrugs, taking in the way his peacoat clings to his shoulders. “You’re back late,” she retorts, her voice crackling before she clears her throat.
