Summary
When people are overwhelmed with feelings they won't (or can't) admit, it causes them to vomit out flowers. Love is a particularly common culrpit. And yes, it's been an enduring symbol of enduring love for humanity since time immemorial, yadda yadda, truth is, in reality, it's kind of a pain to deal with. Kaede's picked roses and daises from her teeth more times than she'd care to admit, and helped friends hack out lilies even more. She knows the drill.
Someone on board The Perihelion has a bad case of The Petals, and she's determined to track down who.

Summary
On a corporate owned mining asteroid in the depths of the Corporation Rim, a group of plucky, heroic, indentured humans have just decided to make their first move in a daring escape plan. Said first move is a deceptively simple hack, putting control of their corporate overlords' single, overworked SecUnit into their hands.
Little do they know, this murderbot is already hacked.

Summary
Dr. Pranjal Ratthi has written papers on mutualism, symbiotic relationships where all species involved benefit from their interactions. It turns out that applying theory into practice with human-AI dynamics is a little more complicated than he might have anticipated. But worth it, in the end.
[Network Effect, from Ratthi's perspective.]

Summary
The middle of All Systems Red, but with a few changes to how those pesky combat override modules work, among other things :)
Now with bonus chapters!
-
The humans were going to want to know what a combat override module was, what it did, how it worked, and most importantly, why it hadn't worked on me. I could answer the first three things just fine, but short of telling my already-jittery clients I was hacked ("so I'm actually one of those scary rogue units you've heard so much about, but the good news is that a combat override module can't hijack a governor module that doesn't work!"), that last thing was going to be a big problem.
Honestly, even if I did tell them exactly that, which I really didn't want to do, it was going to be a really big fucking problem.- Language:

Summary
I pull close to it in the feed, and say, “You were lucky.”
The rogue SecUnit reacts, physically and in the feed. It sits bolt upright, and a wave of fear ripples off of it like a [cloud of micro-debris], or like an [emergency evasive maneuver that grinds a planet’s upper atmosphere]. It’s unpleasant. It’s unfamiliar. I capture the data, store it, and start chewing on it immediately.
