Wreck didn't die after the fight with Ling Ling and Moon but he had to watch everyone cry over Moon's death while Nice was actually dead. He didn't fight, didn't make a scene and just moved away.
He had an another life to take care of now but Wreck wanted Nice's grave to be close so he could visit but when he dug up the grave, there was nothing.
He couldn't ask anybody what happened so he left promising to come find Nice's grave.
