Summary
Exorcists were not meant to fall in love. They were to get married, of course; the bloodline had to be continued somehow. Such marriages were arranged, the merging of bloodlines to strengthen the clan. It was never meant to be about love. To fall in love was to be weak, was to have someone who you would give everything for, would go against everything it meant to be an exorcist if it just meant protecting them.
An exorcist was meant to be a well-honed blade, a weapon to be used and to keep supernaturals in check. Falling in love meant dulling that blade, and a dull blade got people killed.
