Vox held still as Angel ripped a section of tape, pinched it, and then carefully smoothed it over a crack at the corner of his mouth, skimming his thumb over hot, prickly glass as best he could without accidentally cutting himself. It occurred to him that the eye Val had targeted was Vox’s hypnotic eye, the seat of his power; Val had done something similar to Angel in the past—taking the things that made Angel powerful and destroying them, just because he could. The gold tooth in his mouth, in the place of one of his venomous fangs, twinged uncomfortably at the reminder.
Or: When Val hits Vox for the first time, Angel is pretty sure he knows how this will play out. He's lived it, after all. Unfortunately for him, things aren't as simple as they seem this time.

“You could go on a date! But publicly!” Velvette announces. “And it won’t be with that fuckface Radio Demon.”
At that, Ethan claps softly with a proud look on his face. “Oh, good for you boss! I’m glad to see you’ve gotten over him!”
“And what better way to show that than gettin’ with someone else!” Velvette cheers with happy anger. “Anybody that fuckin’ hypocrit hates?”
“...The King of Hell—”
“Then, that’s your date, Vee!” Velvette says, as if she didn’t realize what Vox just said.
“Velvette.” Vox says, just to maybe—oh, he doesn’t fucking know—bring her back down to Hell, maybe?
Or: Vox wants to try as he does every year—and fails at every year—to invite Alastor out for Valentine's Day. But after an epihany, Velvette conjours up a new plan.

Summary
Vox has a special place in his heart for human movies. The things they make can resonate with anyone, and Vox wishes he could still do that, if he ever even did in the first place. He’s the only demon in this shit hole that has access to human technology.
Vox doesn’t really try to stop himself from thinking about Alastor anymore. He knows it’s a battle he’ll lose time and time again, just so he can have clarity he’ll never get.
He misses him, but he doesn’t. Alastor had played him and then left him to die with no regard to how Vox felt. And Vox should hate him for that. But he can’t.
Alastor hates him, though. Vox knows that, has for seventy years. He was always so persistent too, he’s surprised Alastor hasn’t killed him. Vox kind of wished he had. Then maybe he wouldn’t be wondering why he couldn’t hate Alastor back.
Or: Vox tries his best to maybe start feeling better after he failed at his genosidal plans. So, when offered an out by Charlie Morningstar through invite, Vox decides, why not? He can fuck around.

Summary
The marriage started with a condition: Chuuya gets to keep Atsushi by his side.
Oda has never minded that condition, least of all now when the three of them have more or less settled into a routine. What Oda and Chuuya didn't account for, nor accept, is the treatment their clear favoritism towards Atsushi invites towards the poor servant.
It's only natural they make it right, two kings on their knees for a god thinking himself unworthy of their love.
