When the government proposed an energy shutdown for a maximum of 6 hours, there were a lot of mixed opinions. What was the worst that could happen? When it hit the 6-hour mark, the power never came back on. Then it hit 7 hours, then 10, and then 24 hours, and still no power.

Izuku rubbed the back of his head. “I got a survival kit,” he nervously chuckled.
“What?!” Ochako squealed as she placed eight candles onto the counter. “Why on earth would we need a survival kit?” she asked.
Izuku’s smile faded with a shrug. “Call it being prepared. I.. I just have an off feeling about the energy shutdown.”
A hand clamped down on his shoulder. “I don’t fault you for being prepared, man. Six hours, right?”
Izuku nodded. “3 pm to 9 pm.”

“Do not make me lie to you, Midoriya Izuku.”
“Right. Sorry. Bad start,” Midoriya squeaked. Shouta could almost see the kid on the other end of the line, probably vibrating with enough nervous energy to power a small city. “Seriously, this whole t-thing was—uh, everybody’s okay. Physically! Everyone is fine. Uh—well. The property damage is... mostly covered by insurance? Probably?”
Shouta closed his eyes and leaned his head against the headboard with a dull, rhythmic thud. “Property damage. At one in the morning. On your break.”
“Just a bit?”
“What happened?” Shouta drew out the words, each syllable dripping with a bone-deep exhaustion.
“I—” A long pause followed, then a whisper so thin it barely carried through the speaker. “I got into a fight.”
“Where?”
The silence on the other end was deafening.
“Midoriya Izuku,” Shouta warned, using the kid's full name again, his voice dropping into that low, dangerous territory that usually made students scramble for cover.
“A bar,” Midoriya finally whispered.

Midoriya Izuku has lost it all.

Apparently he only has a large sum of money and a house his asshole of a father left him.
And a chance for a change of scenery, his friends say.
Izuku looks at them, at how hard they are working in their careers and still took time of their busy schedules to be there for him as his world crumbled.
He can't be dragging them down anymore, can he?
7 hours, two trains and one bus later, Midoriya Izuku finds a new home, a new purpose and maybe, just maybe, a chance to start again.
