“They’re sweet together,” Sky muses.
“Who?” Wars asks, cracking an eye open.
“Legend and that girl.”
Below, the redheaded girl pauses. Despite the distance, despite the way it doesn’t make sense, she looks up and makes direct eye contact with Sky. For a moment, she looks very, very sad. Then he blinks, and she’s laughing with Legend again, running off toward the distant surf.

Summary
Link is born into the world as all children are - on an unsignificant day during unsignificant weather. He is also born to unsignificant parents and for the majority of his early life he is just like them. Although Link is not the smartest or the fastest or the strongest of children, he does have one thing that no one had ever expected of a silmple farm hand.
Link, against all odds, is significant. However, at this point in time no one knew that, and so these one-shots detail his life before he was known as a hero. He is Link, no one more.

"Edge was hunched in on himself, chin and shoulders tucked almost protectively. He looked defeated. Broken. Paps had seen the look often enough in the mirror that he really should have recognized it in another version of himself. There was more there, though. Fury under the fear, and a seed of determination that Paps lacked—determination, he realized, that would allow this version of himself to do terrible things in the name of survival."
In which UF!Papyrus is gravely injured, and UF!Sans brings him to Underswap to recover. UF!Papyrus doesn't know how to handle genuine kindness, and US!Papyrus learns there's more to this other version of himself than he ever guessed.
