Romance always seemed too convoluted for him. But since cleaning up his act, he’s gotten almost used to finding new sides of himself, he’s figuring things out, and he’s left his mistakes behind him.

“Drinking.” He gives a little tip of his glass to Laxus as if he might have missed the obvious, then kicks the adjacent bar stool. “Seat’s open if you wanna join me.”
Laxus eyes the offending stool coolly. “...Right. And do ya come here often, hon’?” he drawls acerbically.
By all rights, he should focus on handling this situation carefully, but the reality of Laxus pitching him a classic pick-up line amuses him thoroughly. It is simply too enticing to give him shit for it. “Ha, wouldn’t you like that, as pretty as I am?” Fluttering his lashes, he glances down at the stool then back up at Laxus, who gives up on glaring. Victory.
Despite that they transpire entirely unbeknownst to all their guildmates, both Gajeel’s infiltration of Raven Tail and Laxus’s months of expulsion have an overlap.

Deiphobus hasn't been injured and he tries to go and help his brother and Athena ensures no one stands in his way. All she needs is for Hektor to stop running. So Deiphobus goes and Hektor stops and he has the support of his brother beside him. His soul rests in Elysium. And truly, he does not understand the judgment that put him here, but... he must have done something right to have earned it. Surely he at least understands that much? But if that’s true, he can’t figure out what it could have been. Nothing he can entertain as something he did right can measure up to his countless failures, at least, not in his eyes.
It’s useless contemplation, but in death, Hektor can’t figure out how to make himself useful, so apparently useless is all he can manage.
I think too much, Hektor thinks.
