Summary
For many years, the four nations lived together in harmony.
Then, everything changed when a conspiracy to start a war began.
Only the avatar, master of all four elements, could stop it, but when the identity of the new avatar was found, he vanished.
Many years passed without anyone knowing where he was. Then he appeared on a farm in the Earth Kingdom, disguised as a firebender named Neil. And although his bending skills were weak when he got there, with practice he grew stronger every day that passed.
Now with a war looming by, Neil must find his own path into becoming the new avatar and bring balance to the world.

Kevin frowns, stands up. “You know he’s on the Black Pearl, right?”
Andrew did not know that. “I don’t care,” he says.
“You know,” Kevin says at Nicky’s questioning noise. “The Black Pearl. Black sails, appears only at night. Haunted and crewed by the damned.”
Andrew tries to convey exactly how many shits he gives about the bedtime stories of the Black Pearl through the look he gives Kevin: exactly zero.
(Or, the Pirates of the Caribbean AU that absolutely no one asked for, in which Kevin is morally grey but terribly colorful in every other aspect, Neil gets kidnapped far too many times, and Andrew just wants to live out his life in peace, making swords and kissing Neil.)

“I’m obsessive about everything,” Neil protests, sitting in a booth with the four upperclassmen he can stand. “What makes this obsession special?”
“Okay, we get the Exy obsession, because you’re legitimately planning on going pro, and we get the Kevin obsession because he’s dedicated to teaching you to go pro, and we even get the Minyard obsession,” Dan says.
“Shh,” Neil pleads desperately, hoping beyond hope that nobody heard that.
“But the podcast has nothing to do with Exy! It’s half about music, and you don’t even like music that much,” Dan says. “It’s literally just music and a really weird guy talking about his homicidal impulses, and it sorta sounds like a joke, but on a much more real level it sounds like it’s absolutely not a joke and I would call the authorities if this guy gave any personal details at all,” Dan says.
“It’s mostly a joke,” Neil offers, but it sounds weak to his own ears.
