”Ba— Wei-qianbei,” Lan Sizhui clears his throat, pink dusting his cheeks. “We found this…person here, unconscious.”
It’s clear these two are close and communicating somehow silently in front of Wei Wuxian. As if not wanting to say something in front of the Yiling Laozu.
”I see,” the youthful man murmurs and then approaches Wei Wuxian.
Still trying to get his bearings, Wei Wuxian scrambles backwards until his back hits a tree. “Stay away if you know what’s good for you!” He snaps but this doesn’t seem to scare the other man. In fact, he only comes closer.
He doesn’t notice how Lan Sizhui seems to urge the Jin away with the other youth.
“Wow,” the other man murmurs thoughtfully, with a finger to his chin. “Was I really this untrusting of others back then?”
”Hah?!” Wei Wuxian doesn’t think he heard this man correctly. ‘Did he just say I?’
”What are you—?!” It’s then that he notices the dizi sticking out of his sash. “Chenqing?!” Wei Wuxian turns to his own instrument, finding it still secure in place. How? They were exactly the same!
”I told you already,” the man grins a little too giddy for Wei Wuxian’s liking. “I’m you. You’re me.”

Wei Ying laughed.
When the doctor didn't laugh with him, Wei Ying laughed even harder, suddenly feeling delirious. This wouldn't be the first time he'd had hallucinations. The curse must have done much more psychic damage than he thought, no wonder his head was pounding! "That's so funny, you're so funny, I am clearly hearing things," he said, dismissing the doctor's words.
"It's not funny, it's very serious," the doctor insisted. "I fear you heard me correctly. You're pregnant. With multiple on the way."
Lan Zhan's hand tightened around Wei Ying's.
(In which Wei Ying is the last sane person on earth, and everyone around him seems fully convinced that he is carrying not just one baby - but five! He has to somehow solve the case of an angry fertility goddess despite how weirdly protective everyone has become, if only to convince them all that he is absolutely, positively not pregnant!)

Jin Zixuan delicately grasped the skeletal hand once again. It twitched.
“Ew, why are you holding my hand, Peacock? Gross!”
Jin Zixuan leapt back, accidentally ripping the arm from its socket. Adrenaline coursed through him as he took in the horrifying sight before him. Wei Wuxian was dead, and yet, he was sitting up, scowling at the empty socket in his shoulder. “You took my arm.”
Jin Zixuan scoffed, roughly handing the arm back. “You’re a conscious corpse—that’s impossible.”
Wei Wuxian smirked. As he popped the arm back into its socket, he said, “As you can see, clearly it’s not. Also, I’m glad you’re finally starting to appreciate my shijie, but that confession was awful.”
