Then, with a brush, he applies yet another cream in wide, sweeping motions. His face is coated in white now, hiding all the imperfections he sees whenever he stares too hard at the mirror.
With another brush that’s fluffy and feels like feathers tickling his skin, he taps rice powder over the cream. It adds back in texture, whereas before, he was not unlike a porcelain doll.

“Your lip paint is slightly smeared,” He tells Yorunami, and it always gets like that during these meetings of theirs. “How do you keep it so… pristine throughout the monthly meetings?” Which could often go on for hours, the longest lasting little over half a day during the debriefing about Muroya.
“Ah.” Yorunami wipes a thumb by the side of his lip, the wrong side. “I always have some on me, if there’s ever a need to reapply. Do I need to?”

“I hate it whenever they kiss me.” Yumichika says while peering into a bucket of water. His own face – swollen lips with red smeared all over, painted eyes tracking dry tear trails down his cheeks, mussed up hair – reflects back at him. “I should start charging a lovers fee.”
He glances up, just in time to see Ikkaku pause in the middle of wiping down his sword. Just for a moment. Then he grunts and continues wiping it down.
Yumichika takes this as permission.

Summary
The Nether is rarely silent, with grunts and huffs from bastionmates coming even in the dead of night. The ghasts never stop screaming. The sows would laugh at him the next morning when he complained about how it hurt his ears, and they’d tell him that, when he became a boar, the screams would sound like music to his ears.
The Colosseum is somewhat similar. The screams aren’t high-pitched and gratey, but they echo in his ears at night when he tries to sleep. (fun fact: he doesn’t sleep much)

If anything, Technoblade was a god to Tommy’s eyes, the invincible Blade who could handle everything . Maybe that was his first mistake— seeing the god that ran in Technoblade’s veins, never seeing the human vessel that contained it. Because, yes, Technoblade was powerful, unbeatable even, yes, Technoblade was basically a god at this point, but none of that erased the fragile human at Technoblade’s core.

After November 16th, Technoblade retires to a small cabin in the snowy plains. A few days later, Philza joins him with shattered wings and a broken heart. They slowly heal together, salves rubbed over aching joints, bandages wrapped around bleeding wounds, seeking each others' arms for solace.
They prepare for Technoblade's hibernation, but Technoblade doesn't want to go.

Someone was rubbing the warmth back into them with calloused, yet gentle hands, huffing disappointedly at him. He had a blanket around his shoulders and a cup of something in his hands. He remembers smiling and laughing, two things he hadn’t done in a long time.
