“Izuku, please,” Kacchan pleaded, a slight tremble to his voice. “You—You hardly even mumble anymore. I hate seeing you so upset, so if I can help, I want to.”
“Kacchan,” Izuku whispered into his neck. He gripped Kacchan’s shirt desperately, like it was the only thing keeping him grounded. “I can’t keep p-pretending.”
“What do you mean?” Kacchan murmured.
“I can’t keep pretending that I don’t want you,” Izuku whimpered, his whole body trembling. “That I don’t need you.”
Or, Izuku puts distance between him and Katsuki because it hurts to be around him when he knows they can never be together. Katsuki notices and confronts him.

Izuku nodded and moved to walk out. Aizawa sensei put a hand on his shoulder. He stopped and looked up at him.
“He’s still not stable, okay? And usually we wouldn’t allow too many visitors in case he’s exposed to something that could make him worse. But I want you to know. Every time he’s woken up, he’s asked for you specifically."
--When Katsuki Bakguou is taken by a villain and barely escapes death, it has him reflecting on his relationships with people. During his recovery, he can't ignore the nagging, warm feeling in his chest whenever Izuku Midoriya is around. Which is a lot, considering he's the one taking care of Katsuki.
or: Katsuki Bakugou is like a stick of butter. When baking, it's sometimes necessary to soften the butter by nuking it in a microwave.

«We might be dead», he insists again, and his tone is definitely weird, now. «We might be dead and I… I don’t want to have any regrets», he says plainly, if not with a bit of a stutter.
«God fucking damn it», Katsuki swears, exasperated, trying his best to mask how the anticipation is riling him up. «Say it and get out», he orders regardless, keeping his stride.
«Can I stay with you tonight?» Izuku finally asks clearly, loud enough, and it’s like something shatters.
