This was wrong. He couldn’t keep doing this. Izuku didn’t deserve it. He deserved someone true, and real. Someone who would listen to his incessant rambling without complaints, and who would cook his favorite meal every week, or help him organize his stupid All Might collection.
Katsuki wasn’t that person. He would tell Izuku to shut up. He waited until they both had near-death experiences to cook his favorite meal for the first time. He wouldn’t even consider touching Izuku’s godforsaken collection for a second.
He wasn’t good enough for him.
For a while, he lay awake and wondered, as he often did, if he would ever be good enough for anyone at all.-----------------------------------------
AKA, Katsuki is touch-starved and has been pining after Izuku for years. He doesn't think he deserves the positivity that his friend showers him with, but Izuku wants to convince him otherwise.

"DAMN IT, PINKY!" he roared, facepalming hard.
One second... two seconds...
“Holy shit.” Katsuki stared at Mina’s Instagram, already seeing shares and reactions piling up under the post.
“And now,” she declared proudly, “we let the magic do its thing!”

“Why the fuck have neither of you told me anything?” Katsuki barked. Guilt settled into his chest like a lead blanket. Even his mother did what he couldn’t do. Izuku picked up on it so fast, Katsuki secretly wondered if the fucker had a mind-reading quirk.
“You were busy, Kacchan.” Izuku tried softly, reaching up to put a hand on Katsuki’s shoulder. “The grind never stops. You had dreams to chase. You can’t keep turning back for someone who’s stopped in the middle of the race. Not when you still have the ability to run and grab first place at the finish line.”
Katsuki stopped abruptly, turning to face Izuku with what could only be described as horror. Izuku’s hand never left his shoulder.
“You’ve never stopped in the middle of the race, ‘Zuku.”
Alternatively, someone needs to bonk Izuku on the head with a mallet. Who else better to do the job than Katsuki?

“Name?” One asks. Another person who doesn’t know him. Perhaps he just looks too banged up to be recognized? It certainly feels like it.
“Izuku Midoriya,” he replies. He spots a pin on the emergency responder’s shirt. It’s a tiny, barely visible 3D version of Deku. “Hero Deku at your service.” He jokes.
The responder laughs, and he knows it was a mistake. “You’re funny, kid.”
“What?” he asks in a breathy wheeze.
“Huh? how bad is that concussion? Do you really think you’re Deku?” He trails off, seeming to realize that Izuku can't respond. “Hang tight kid, we are almost there.”
But Izuku is starting to lose all that is left of his sanity. What. Is. Happening.
“Hey,” another responder says, patting his arm. “Are you sure your name is Izuku Midoriya? I’m not getting anything in our system.”
Finally, Izuku has a moment of clarity. Seiko. She did do something. She erased him.
Izuku Midoriya is gone.—
When the world forgets Izuku’s name, he must decide whether it is worth the sacrifice needed to return home, or if it’s just easier to fade into the background.
Back at UA, Katsuki tries to figure out why a random boy on the street is making him question everything.
