Summary
After moving twice this year, and after losing Bobby, everything in Buck's life has an air of uncertainty and impermanence. Of course he picked this house because he liked it and could see himself living here, but part of him still feels like somebody is going to take it away from him as soon as he allows it to feel like home.
Buck wonders if Tommy somehow understands why he’s so reluctant to unpack his decorations, even though they haven't spoken about it. And if Tommy got him a plant on December 1st and a little fire engine on the 2nd, does that mean there’ll be another present tomorrow?

“It’s an excuse, Mom!” he yells, watching her face become emotionless at the outburst. “So many parents lose kids, but they don’t treat their other kids like shit. I know you lost Daniel, but you didn’t lose me. I was still there. You left me.”

Tommy wasn't expecting to see the other firefighter, and Athena's son, standing at his front door at 9:36 pm on a Wednesday.
"What are you doing here? How do you even know where I live?" Tommy asked perplexed looking between Ravi and Athena's son in confusion. It took him a second too long to register their expressions and stance.
