Summary

From his earliest memories, Prince Jacaerys Velaryon was told by his mother and both his grandfathers that he would be King of the Seven Kingdoms and become a great ruler. And for the first eight years of his life, he believed these promises without question. He had no reason to doubt them, or to doubt his mother's love for him and his brothers.

Prince Jacaerys Velaryon was promised greatness from the moment he was born, but unfortunately, his mother’s new husband did not see him as such. Jace loved Egg and Vissy just as much as he did Luke and Joff, of how he grew to love Rhaena, but his new half-siblings brought with them threats that his mother never believed tangible.
Seeing history repeat itself, Jacaerys chooses to protect himself and his brothers' lives and their happiness at the cost of his crown, leading to choices which eventually guide him North and amongst wolves.Jacaerys is born but never lives as a Strong, claimed as a Velaryon out of duty and love, lives his whole life promised to be a Targaryen, and in the end choses to become a Stark. The outcome is surprisingly the best thing that could have happened to everyone.
